Recruiting for Spring 2027

Graduate Supervision

Graduate students in the Division of English at Sogang University

I am recruiting graduate students to join HAICoLab under my supervision starting in the Spring 2027 semester. Interested students should review the supervision requirements below.

Graduate supervision requirements View details

These requirements apply to graduate students in the Division of English at Sogang University who wish to join HAICoLab under my supervision.

  1. Eligibility

At the time of application, students must be in their first, second, or third semester, with at least one year remaining before their expected graduation.

  2. Coursework

Students must take at least one course taught by me. Students who have completed a course, are currently enrolled, or plan to enroll may contact me.

  3. Manuscript submission and approval for graduation

Students must submit at least one manuscript to an SCI/SCIE-indexed journal before graduation. I will not approve graduation as the supervisor until this submission requirement has been fulfilled.

Submission to a KCI-indexed journal may be pursued afterward, depending on research progress and need.

  4. Research support and supervision

To support publication in an SCI/SCIE-indexed journal, I will provide ongoing guidance from developing research questions to conducting the study, preparing the manuscript, and submitting it. I will make every effort to provide a supportive research environment. Students are encouraged to approach international journal publication with confidence, supported by close supervision and a structured research process.

  5. Regular research meetings

Research meetings take place weekly or every two weeks, including during university vacation periods. Regular participation and continued research engagement are required.

  6. Research continuity and residence in Korea

To maintain research continuity, students must remain in Korea during university vacation periods, except for approximately one week of leave, unless there are special circumstances. Any exceptions should be discussed with me in advance.
